What stays on your machine

Everything you make. A macro is a JSON file in your own profile folder; a captured screen template is an image beside it; your settings are in a local store. None of it is uploaded.

What leaves it, and what cannot

Crash reports and usage analytics are anonymous and opt-out, and both are switched in Settings → Privacy & diagnostics. The section's own description is the guarantee: they never include key names, typed text, window titles, coordinates, or screen captures.

That is a property of the event schema rather than a filter applied afterwards. There is no analytics event for starting, stopping or configuring a utility, and no field anywhere that could carry a macro's contents.

A one-time install signal on first launch carries a random identifier and nothing else. It is opt-out too.

The bandwidth sharing

Covered in How ClickTray is funded. It relays other parties' traffic; it has no access to your files or your input.
