The system tray

ClickTray lives in the tray. Closing the main window hides it there; it keeps running and a session keeps going.

Hover the icon to see what it is doing: the tooltip reads ClickTray — session running (or session paused) while a session is live. Click the icon to bring the window back.

The menu

• Open ClickTray — brings the window back.
• Share idle bandwidth — a checkbox mirroring the Settings switch. Under it, a line reads Utilities available or Utilities disabled while sharing is off. See How ClickTray is funded.
• Stop session — halts what is running, and shows the actions sent and the measured rate while it does. When nothing is running the item reads No session running and is disabled, so its position never moves and muscle memory keeps working.
• Pause session — a checkbox. Pauses without discarding the configuration. Disabled when nothing is running.
• Settings… — opens the ClickTray window (on whichever screen it was last showing).
• Check for updates…
• Quit ClickTray — asks first, then exits properly.

What usually goes wrong

I quit it and it is still running. Closing the window is not quitting. Use Quit ClickTray on the tray menu.

The Massive agent is still there after I quit. It is a separate agent with its own tray icon and it keeps sharing while you are signed in to Windows. Uninstalling ClickTray stops and removes it.
